Just created this webpage for the new Northern Michigan Backgammon Club. Still in the very early stages, our first meeting is the 30th of November at the Horizon Bookstore in Petoskey. So far we have 7 members. Many thanks to both Chicago Point and Flint Backgammon Clubs for their support and advice (and local members in the case of Flint). If you are interested in the Club and live in the area, give me a buzz at DrRTownsend@msn.com and I'll get you plugged into the system. Lets make this organization a sucess! Bob

The First Internet Backgammon Server Free play with some of the best players in the world. Can be a humbling experience at first, but with experience here you will wax the typical player in the local bar. Several of our members play here, look for DragunovDoc and Victoria.

The Grand Rapids Backgammon Club Another major Michigan Club, at last count they were the winners of the interclub championship in Michigan. Very nice folks, we hope to play them sometime. Good excuse for a roadtrip.

Flint Area Backgammon Club A major Michigan Club- very extensive website. Carol Cole is the director and has been very helpful in our set up.

Chicago Point Backgammon Club Bill Davis runs this club- very good links. He designed our logo and has been very helpful getting us up and running. This is where our club point system originated.

3dFibs This is a PC interface that sets you up to play on FIBS. You can also play against the computer off line (it uses a version of gnu), but there is no analysis. Good for a quick backgammon fix against a 2000 level player.

Red Top's Backgammon Page The home page of one of the best internet players, lots of articles and advice. Good links to other sites.

Gnu Backgammon Excellent tutorial program, 2000 level sparring partner. Full analysis of your matches with recommendations for improvement. One of the most important training aids to have, and it is free of charge.

Backgammon Galore Large site with articles, software downloads, book reviews. Very useful training ref.

	501 Backgammon Problems by Bill Robertie An extensive study of positions from all aspects of the game from opening to bearoff. The reader is encouraged to decide on a play, then compare it to the most efficient play. This book and Magriel is a firm basis for any backgammon library.

Advanced Backgammon Vol 1 and 2 by Robertie When it is time to get serious, this is the next step on the educational ladder. Vol 2 is especially technical.

Backgammon by Magriel The most important book the beginning backgammon player can own.

Understanding Backgammon by Woolsey/Jones An introduction to the logic of backgammon as played by advanced players. Very well written and practical.
